1931 Ford Pickup Roadster Vintage HOT ROD ONLY 2700 ever made in 1931 All original steel and never restored or patched Old Hot Rod from California build in the 50s Still has the original 1954 issued California plate, last tag was 1964. They used a 1939 Ford Flathead, with a 1939 3 speed trans and a banjo rear end. They did split the front wishbones and also installed a drop axle with 1941 juice brakes. The guy I got it from found it in California and then sold it to me. It wasn’t road worthy when I got it. I received the truck and started going through the driveline (changing all fluids, checking what needed to be done.) Driveline was very nice and clean, didn’t need much. I did replace the generator with a one wire alternator and also replaced the distributor to a Mallory to eliminate problems. All brakes where gone thou and all parts needing replace were. Master cylinder was replaced. All frontend bushings and bearing were replaced. Also new kingpins, tie rod ends. There is still a little slope in the steering box. The front spring was replace do to it being sacked out form sitting for years. All wiring was replaced do to a very hungry mouse. There is only headlights and a tail light. No power anything. This truck is now in great mechanical shape. Drive anywhere.. Body is all original steel except the 32 ford grill. That was added at some time. There is also a 32 ford Radiator. The body does have the common rust at the bottom of doors and cowl. Under seat also has some small holes. All other metal is not rusty. I do have the patches if needed. The wood in the bed was replaced do to it being dry rotted and I didn’t want to lose my cooler. Doors open and close very nice. Fuel tank is being used to feed the Stromberg carb. All fuel lines were also replaced. I do have to original top frame but it will need to have new top installed. Inside is very simple, just black vinyl door panels and kick panels. The seat is mounted to the original seat frame. The steering wheel is out of a 39 Lincoln. This is a True time Machine. Tried to put back on the road without updating to much. This truck will only be listed once on EBAY. I’m not going to relist. If it doesn’t sell it will be in Minnesota for the Back to The Fifty’s show June 22 and 23. I am selling my 1931 Model A Ford pickup Rat Rod project. The frame is new but has surface rust. The cab is in decent shape, but has rust all around the bottom. I have patch panels that I purchased from Howes. I attempted to put one in and was reminded that I am not a geat welder. That one will need to be replaced. Front end is a tube axle with a 4 inch drop and disc brakes.Calipers are new. Grill shell is a fiberglass 32. The radiator is a brand new aluminum unit that I had custom made. The motor is a small block ford, I think a 302. I have the history on this motor and it has 0 miles. It is very clean inside and runs well. 4 barrell Holley with a kit recently installed. Steering is a Unisteer rack and pinion. Trans is an AOD. I was told it works fine, but have not had a chance to test it.Rear end is from a Chevy S-10 with coil over suspension. I have the bed which is also in decent shape. It is the wide bed. Wheels are Tru Spoke. The distributor is a electronic unit from speedway that uses a Chevy cap with the coil in it. I have numerous bits and pieces that I have purchased that will go with it such as brake components, accelerator pedal etc. Too many little pieces to list. This is an Original 1930 Ford Model A Deluxe Roadster on an Original 1932 Frame and mostly 1932 chassis. It is titled and registered in CA as a 1930 Ford in my name and used as a daily driver. This car has been driven to Bonneville, LA, Bakersfield, Las Vegas, Paso, Santa Maria, several years of the 150 mile Northern Ca Reliability Run........ you could hop in this thing and go where ever you want, I do. The story: This body was from a Stock Model A Deluxe Roadster that was a parade car for a Firehouse in Upstate New York, starting in 1935. The firemen maintained it and did a stock paint job on it many years ago. It has the stock interior, and rumble seat interior. At some point is was mated to an original 1932 ford frame, and became a hot rod. The windshield was chopped, and the stock top was cut down to fit. The parts: -Model A Deluxe Roadster body, including chopped original folding top and windshield, and interior including rumble seat and panels. Deluxe floor under seat is modified with two tool boxes built into floor, (can easily be removed ) -Original 1932 Ford Frame, with stock K member, flattened 32 rear cross member with c notch at axle, and original model A front cross member -1951 Ford Flathead V8, with Edmunds Heads, Weiand Highrise 2 x2 Manifold, Winfield Cam and adjustable lifters, bored .10 over, 2 Stromberg 97's, Mallory dual point distributor, headers, Straight exhaust,etc. -1939 Ford Transmission, with 32 mount for K member, recently rebuilt with post war sincros and gears. -1939 Ford Pedals mated to the 32 K member, with 39-48 Ford master cylinder. -1941 Ford Banjo Rear Axle, rebuilt with 3.54 gears, and rebuilt 41 juice brakes, stock spring with springs modified to fit 32 rear crossmember. -1941 Ford torque tube, shortened. and tubular shortened drive shaft. -1932 Ford Heavy Front Axle, dropped about 3 1/2", with 37-40 spindles and 40 juice brakes, with reverse eye model A spring -1932 Ford Unsplit Wishbone -1932 ford dash with 1935 Chevy gauges. -1932 Ford Original Grill shell and insert, was filled many years ago. -Stock Model A gas tank sealed, as well as 15 gallon tank in the trunk, with valve to switch back and forth. -Kelsey Hayes 40 spoke wire wheels, narrow fronts, and wide rears. -Firestone deluxe blackwall tires, 750-16 rear and 475-16 fronts -BLC headlights, on modified model A headlight bars. -Ford lever shocks in the rear, and tube shocks on the front with Dodge shock mounts(similar to F1 but shorter) -1951 Ford F1 Steering box, rebuilt and modified to fit 32 frame -1937 Ford Steering column, with ignition switch. -194? Buick Steering Wheel -There is a unknown maker Hood for it, that was painted at a later date, but looks close. -Recored 32 V8 radiator. -12 volt, with battery in the trunk, and rebuilt 12 volt generator Now, the reality is, this car is Driven , and shows it. And it is over 80 years old. There are cracks and dents in the body, chips in the paint, rusty spots, tears or splits in the seats, oil spots, dirty motor, leaking strombergs, Blow by smoke, cracks in the glass, etc. Not all the gauges are hooked up, but they all work. If you are looking for a perfect paint job and interior, I want you to understand that this car is not in that condition. But if you want something fun to drive, with plenty of patina and history... I think this is it. Even in it's condition it has won several awards, which can go with the car if you want them. I have myself put at least 45,000 miles on the rebuilt motor. It does have some blow by, but these things always did. This car runs very well, easy to steer, handles turns very well, and rides very nice for an old hot rod. With the 3.54 rear end you can drive on the highway at 70-75 with ease. The stock seats are very comfortable. Starts and stops well. This car does NOT run hot, I have never had it overheat, even with the hood on. Normal driving temp range is 165-180 deg. I have had several guys with small block chevy's have a hard time keeping up with this car through the hills and turns. The only reason I am selling this car is I have found a property I want to purchase, so please no offers for trades. Car is sold as is where is, there is no warranty. Up for auction is a 1929 Ford Model A 4-Door Deluxe Phaeton with dual side mounts and a trunk in the back. This is a 5-year old professional authentic ground up restoration, all original steel and motor. this car is museum quality. car starts right up and shifts and brakes. Interior shows no wear and the paint is almost 100% perfect. The undercarriage is clean and perfect. The top is in great condition, shows no wear. All stainless and chrome is perfect. I have all original tools, jack, crank, etched wind wings and side curtains. Car has the original 6v charging systems. everything works great. Car has a new battery. Also has the orignal sparton horn. The car has always been garaged. Its a show winner at any event and a definite head turner. Has the orignal grille guard and radiator cap. The only thing the car is missing is the windshield wiper which was stolen previous to restoration, these are extremely hard to find and was never replaced.
